Meet the team

Founder: Miss Jacqui
This is Miss Jacqui, she is the principal and founder of Temperleys School of Dance. She started her dancing journey aged just four and has completed her vocational exams in ballet, tap and jazz as well as graded exams in acrobatics. Most importantly, she trained to be a teacher with the British Theatre Dance Association.
Jacqui has been teaching dance for 22 years, the last 8 of those here at Temperleys. Throughout that time, Jacqui has taught young hopefuls ranging in age from two and a half years up to their early 20s across ballet, tap and jazz, alongside acrobatics, lyrical, song and dance, as well as national and drama. Over the years she has prepared many students for examinations and holds a 100% pass rate. She has also developed and supported students towards medal tests, competitions such as the BTDA All England Championship Finals, public performances, charity events and shows.
Overseeing all classes at Temperleys, Jacqui takes a keen interest in all children learning to dance at her school. Like all the teachers here, she is DBS checked.

Miss Beki
This is Miss Beki, She spent ten years travelling the world as a professional dancer in theatre tours, pantomimes and on cruise liners. She is a teacher at Temperleys but also does a lot of administration and helps with the organisation and smooth running of things at Temperleys! Her passion is in handing down her skills to the next generation and thinks of team Temperleys as a family rather than just another dance school.

Miss Nikki
This is Miss Nikki. She started dancing at the age of 2 and went off to dance all over the world in shows and tv/film for 13 years, mostly in Latin America. Now back in the UK she’s enjoying helping children learn dance and performance skills and hopes to inspire those who might follow in her footsteps! For Miss Nikki the best thing about teaching at Temperleys is watching the students confidence grow, their friendships blossom and all whilst enjoying every class.

James
This is James, who now teaches at Temperleys after travelling the world as a professional dancer for some seriously big-name productions including Vegas Showgirls. He has performed aboard Carnival Cruiseliners and the Royal Palace too. He says that teaching at Temperleys reminds him of why he became a teacher – to help each child grow as a performer.

Miss Libby
This is Miss Libby. She has been a member of the team, in one way or another, since day one and has been dancing with BTDA for more than a decade. She has passed a range of graded exams up to vocational level and is a pro when it comes to performances, shows and competitions. She loves watching the children’s passion for dancing grow just as hers did and knows just how to support children when big events such as exams or shows are drawing near.

Secretary: Jenny
This is Jenny. As the school secretary it’s her job to keep us all organised. Parents, guardians and students call all liaise with Jenny about payments, class timetables and attendance. Just like the teachers, Jenny is DBS checked.

Miss Neve
Miss Neve is currently off travelling in New Zealand but she is still very much a part of the Temperleys family. She is always helping behind the scenes. Miss Neve studied dance in higher education after developing her skills from the age of just four. She has a wealth of experience teaching dance, acrobatics and gymnastics in primary schools, to children of all abilities, which is something she brings to the Temperleys team. For her, each lesson should be about progressing and having fun.
